Easy Peasy Tomato Pasta

Time: 25 minutes

Serves: 8 Adults

Cost: 50p per portion


Ingredients

1 Onion

2 cloves of garlic

1/2 bunch of basil

200g bacon lardons

800g of passata

4 tablespoons of balsamic or redwine vinegar

500g of dried pasta (any shape – fusilli is great for little ones to hold)

Method

Cook your pasta as instructed on the packet.

Finely chop the onion then soften with a little olive oil, on a medium heat, in a large pan for about 5 minutes.

Chop the basil and add to the onions with crushed garlic. Stir.

Add the bacon lardons and cook for roughly 8 minutes. Keep stirring.

Add the passata and vinegar. Simmer for 10 minutes.

Add the cooked pasta and stir altogether.
